Actually, you can choose from a lot of nursing degrees. If you want to gain a quick overview on what each degree is all about, you can look at some of the information indicated below:

Registered Nursing Degree

In order for you to have a wide range of opportunities in nursing, a registered nursing degree is what you’ll need. Most of the work opportunities in nursing require the RN degree as a main basis to be qualified for the job. You can do your RN education by obtaining a diploma in nursing and successfully completing the bachelor’s degree in nursing program. Having fulfilled any of these degrees will allow you to finally take the Nursing Certification and License Examination – RN examination.

Licensed Practical Nursing Degree

If you want to engage in the field of nursing in the quickest way possible, this degree is the right degree for you. This degree does not take long to complete and it usually lasts for only a year. Sufficient training shall be provided within the hospital setting and an LPN is expected to provide basic nursing care under the supervision of other health care professionals such as registered nurses and physicians. After completing the degree, graduates will then need to pass the certification exam in order to obtain a license.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

The B.S.N degree entails a four year preparation program in nursing. Since this program is very thorough, the education provided will range from basic concepts, theories, standards of nursing care, research, critical patient care and management of emergency situations. If you wish to pursue a higher degree or continue your education to become a clinical nurse specialist or an advanced practice nurse, then the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is the right choice for you.

Master’s Degree in Nursing

This degree is a post graduate degree and more advanced in scope. Nurses who wish to advance in their learning and practice can engage in this degree. Usually, it takes about two years for this degree to be completed. As a graduate and registered nurse, you may opt for the Master’s that are provided in this level.
